Job summary

Avara Foods Ltd. is seeking a Despatch Operative for our Hollybank site in Scropton, near Hatton. You will palletise, wrap, and load deliveries of fresh and frozen meat in a fast-paced FMCG environment, where hygiene and accuracy are key.

Hours are Tue–Sat 06:00–15:00. You will use hand scanners, rotate stock, and lift up to 20 kg. Base pay is £13.66 per hour with a £2.00 weekend allowance, plus secure contracts and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Licence/experience with MHE equipment.
• Good level of English and basic numeracy.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks.
• Experience in production/manufacturing is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Picking, storing and documenting products.
• Quality checking, wrapping and palletising.
• Stacking frozen and chilled products.
• Loading and unloading trailers.
• Using hand scanners to log products.
• Picking, checking and rotating products based on the daily plan.
• Manual handling up to 20kg.

About The Role

As Despatch Operative you’ll be working with fresh and frozen meat products, helping to palletise, wrap store and load products for deliveries. So, you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical.

Some Of The Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Picking, storing and documenting products.
• Quality checking, wrapping and palletising products.
• Stacking frozen and chilled products.
• Loading and unloading trailers.
• Using hand scanners to log products into the system.
• Picking, checking and rotating products based on the daily plan.
• Manual handling which can include lifting equipment and products up to 20kg

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Licences/experience with MHE equipment and ability to show competancy.
• Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
• The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
• Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
• Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
