Job summary

SGX Graphics in Greater Manchester (Bury) is seeking a Despatch Operative to join our production team. You will pack final delivery goods, select despatch methods, and support warehouse operations to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.

The role requires heavy lifting and good computer skills; a forklift licence is advantageous but training will be provided. You may be part of a small team or work independently as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pack all final delivery goods with firm materials and the correct label with address and receiver.
• Make decisions to despatch jobs using the most cost effective, reliable & efficient methods.
• Demonstrate good communication skills, commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility.
• Work quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Control cardboard & wood recycling in the yard.
• Keep a clean & tidy working environment.
• Take in deliveries.
• Take delivery of stock and store properly.
• Use company vehicles to deliver or collect from locals (requires full UK driving licence).

We are looking for a Despatch Operative to join the team in Bury. This is a key role in the production function and in supporting an efficient and professional service to our clients.

Role And Responsibilities

• Pack all final delivery goods with firm materials and the correct label with address and receiver.
• Make decisions to despatch jobs using the most cost effective, reliable & efficient methods.
• To demonstrate good communication skills, commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility.
• To work quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Control both cardboard & wood recycling in the yard.
• Keep a clean & tidy working environment.
• Take in deliveries
• Take delivery of various stock and put away in the correct places.
• Using company vehicles to deliver or collect from local company’s (Dependant on a full UK driving licence).

Skills And Experience

• The role does include heavy lifting and a lot of manual handling.
• Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a small team while also being self motivated to work alone.
• Good computer skills required.
• FLT license advantageous but not essential (training will be given)
