Job Opportunity: Despatch Operative

We are currently recruiting a Despatch Operative to join our busy Despatch team. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, approximately 7am - 5pm, averaging 45-48 hours per week. Some weekend work may be required.

Job Responsibilities

1. Packing and building orders for dispatch to customers.
2. Preparing pallets of stock for dispatch.
3. Carrying out correct forklift procedures, including usage, charging, and staff usage, reporting discrepancies to the supervisor.
4. Safe loading and stacking of orders with a forklift.
5. Ensuring paperwork is complete on time and that deliveries meet customer and company standards.
6. Maintaining high hygiene standards at all times.
7. Managing data scanning equipment, including maintenance and charging, and inputting/outputting information as directed.
8. Keeping the warehouse tidy.
9. Shunting trailers as required (if trained).
10. Performing any additional duties reasonably assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

Previous experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing or warehouse environment is beneficial. A forklift or reach truck license is advantageous, but full training can be provided.
