Job summary

Propelis in Salford is seeking a Despatch Operative to support an efficient, professional service for clients. You will pack final delivery goods, use our systems and ensure accurate labeling and records.

This role involves heavy lifting and manual handling, with opportunities to work as part of a small team or independently. Training for a FLT license is provided if needed; shifts may include early starts and varied times as workload dictates.

Qualifications

• The role includes heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Demonstrates ability to work as part of a small team while also being self-motivated to work alone.
• FLT license advantageous but not essential (training will be given)

Responsibilities

• Pack all final delivery goods with firm materials and the correct label with address and receiver.
• Work using SGK's own system as well as various shipping company systems.
• Make decisions to despatch jobs using the most cost effective, reliable & efficient methods.
• To demonstrate good communication skills, commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility.
• To work quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Control both cardboard & wood recycling in the yard.
• Keep a clean & tidy working environment.
• Take delivery of various stock and put away in the correct places.
• Using company vehicles to deliver or collect from local companies (Dependant on a full UK driving licence).
