About The Role

We are looking to strengthen our IT team with a Desktop Support Engineer based at Hattersley.

You will report directly to the Head of IT and your role will cover all IT Desktop support tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide highly skilled IT support, providing resolutions to user issues.
  2. Respond and self-management of IT support tickets within the SLM tool.
  3. Track, route, and redirect problems to correct resources if required. Keep users informed of progress.
  4. Talk users through problem-solving processes.
  5. Follow up with customers, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution.
  6. Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed customers' expectations.
  7. Ensure proper recording, creating or updating documentation.
  8. Preserve and grow your knowledge of the companies procedures, products, and services.
  9. Manage and support hardware and software installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.
  10. Provide support for all Line of Business (LOB) applications.
Technical Requirements:
  1. Expertise in hardware and software support.
  2. Support experience of Windows 10 & 11, network protocols, M365 apps.
  3. Experience using Microsoft Intune, Application Packaging, PowerShell and Autopilot.
  4. Experience in supporting Line of Business (LOB) applications.
  5. Experienced with meeting room AV technical hardware solutions, office network technology and print technology.

  1. Previous working experience in a similar role.
  2. A self-starter with enthusiasm for technology.
  3. Self-motivated and flexible approach to work.
  4. Working knowledge of help desk software, databases, and remote desktop tools.
  5. Vigilance and attention to detail.
  6. Strong client-facing and communication skills.
  7. Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
  8. Customer service orientation.
  9. Ability to pro-actively research issues to find a solution.
