An independent regulatory body in Birmingham is seeking Desk Based Investigators to support complex investigations. Responsibilities include conducting interviews, drafting statements, and obtaining evidence. The ideal candidate will have experience in investigations and a strong customer service ethos. Are you an individual with experience of conducting interviews, drafting witness statements and gathering evidence to support complex investigations? We are looking to recruit two Desk Based Investigators to join our Investigations directorate. This is a hybrid role based in our Birmingham office. Applications are welcome from a wide range of experience and expertise.
You will sit within the Investigations directorate to support and assist a team of Investigation Officers, who are at the forefront of investigating reports about misconduct. You will be responsible for a range of activities and your key tasks will include:
As part of your role, you will be expected to independently conduct interviews, draft witness statements and undertake other evidence gathering activities. You will need to be flexible and be able to work to competing priorities within defined timescales. Your primary focus will be on supporting Investigation Officers and taking direction from them on what is required from you. You will assist them to manage a varied caseload and support high priority investigations.
We investigate reports and complaints about solicitors and others we regulate. These investigations arise from behaviour both within and outside of practice, will vary in length and complexity and we apply a range of factors to decide on what action we should take.
