Here at Yodel, we deliver more than just parcels; we deliver a great experience in your career too. We are seeking a Desk Based Account Director on a permanent basis to join our fast-paced Commercial team at our Liverpool Head office.

Role Overview

The Desk Based Account Director will oversee and lead a team of Account Managers, aiming to meet targets for business development, retention, revenue, and profitability. Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of clients, developing new business, and progressing clients through the Yodel value chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop account plans with the Commercial Director.
  • Apply sales management principles to meet growth targets.
  • Maintain account management standards and execute plans.
  • Monitor client progress within the Yodel value chain.
  • Manage sales activities to meet client needs and performance metrics.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and transitions for clients.
  • Coordinate with Operations for service delivery and efficiency.
  • Manage pricing according to authorized processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with Salesforce for sales processes and reporting.
  • Support professional development and training.
  • Guide team members in resolving escalations and improving profits.
  • Maintain client relationships and collaborate with Credit Control, Finance, and Operations.
  • Participate in Duty RAD rota and central projects as needed.
  • Prioritize client satisfaction and aim for high NPS scores.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in account management or business development, ideally in logistics or transportation.
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Results-driven with a history of achieving targets.
  • Strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with KPIs and performance monitoring.
  • Project management and cross-functional collaboration experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and relevant software.
