Reports to Creative Team Lead

Job Summary

Supporting Creative Services function and creative excellence by delivering a wide range of high-quality multimedia projects. Interrogating and challenging briefs, working closely with the wider team and applying creativity alongside a keen eye for detail to ensure optimal and innovative solutions to client requests.

  • Produce high quality, visually appealing and technically accurate materials on schedule and according to brief, observing specified brand/style guidelines:
  • PowerPoint presentations, including styling, consistency checking, applying specified templates, animating and/or revisualization
  • Scientific posters and similar materials, either for print or screen display
  • Poster templates in both PowerPoint and InDesign, including clear and comprehensive style guides
  • Figures and illustrations for both on-screen and print use
  • Static and animated infographics capturing specified key information clearly and concisely
  • Intuitive, user-friendly interactive documents
  • Miscellaneous bespoke graphical content for onscreen or printed use
  • Source and amend appropriate imagery or stock according to internal procedures
  • Support with creative concept ideation
  • Follow briefing instructions thoroughly and ensure all requirements and deadlines are met
  • Push creative boundaries to exceed customer expectations
  • Interpret and challenge creative briefs where appropriate, and drive collaboration within and across creative and account teams, to ensure the best possible solutions are delivered efficiently
  • Action all requested amends carefully and accurately
  • Effective proof-reading and quality checking of own work before returning, taking responsibility for errors and showing willingness to address feedback
  • Proactive identification, proposing and implementation of improvements in quality of visuals in active projects
  • Understand and interpret brand guidelines, ensuring outputs are brand compliant
  • Willingness to seek support when required and ability to rationalize and defend design decisions
  • Work with Creative Services Management and freelance staff/suppliers as required, to ensure timelines are communicated and all deadlines are met
  • Adherence to all relevant internal, client and industry guidelines and SOPs, including maintaining agreed filing structures, naming conventions and version control

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with a creative portfolio
  • Experience in a medical communications or healthcare advertising agency
  • Experience in developing design materials for medical/healthcare communications
  • A passion for communicating scientific data in clear and visually appealing formats
  • Enthusiasm for innovation in design, software and learning new skills
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of core design principles, including use of colour, typography, spacing, information hierarchy and white space; accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
  • Experience in Microsoft 365, particularly PowerPoint is essential
  • A creative approach to problem-solving and an open-minded attitude
  • Ability to take design concepts and produce supporting deliverables for use across a wide variety of creative platforms
  • Ability to take and interpret creative briefs
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills and proactivity, with excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Experience working with traffic/workflow management software advantageous
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking and working to tight deadlines
  • Ambition, enthusiasm and a team player mentality
