Job summary

Mitchell Maguire Limited in Leeds is seeking a Designer – Bespoke Joinery & Woodwork to manage the full design process for bespoke joinery projects and furniture commissions.

You will produce detailed technical drawings from customer briefs and architectural plans, collaborating with clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure designs are practical and producible across 2D/3D CAD workflows. This is an office-based role in Leeds.

Qualifications

• Design experience within the woodworking/joinery sector.
• Retail fit-out project experience is advantageous.
• Experience from tools (joiner/machinist) is beneficial.
• AutoCAD experience, 2D or 3D.
• Organised with good attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Full UK driving license.
• Computer literate (MS Office).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good team player who can also work independently.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical and manufacturing drawings from customer briefs, architectural drawings and project specifications.
• Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to develop practical and commercially viable design solutions.
• Manage projects from initial concept through to manufacture, ensuring designs meet customer requirements and production capabilities.
• Liaise with production and operational teams to resolve technical queries and ensure successful delivery.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings and specifications while providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
