Job description
Overview

Location: Hamilton
Shift: Weekdays
Salary: Competitive with Opportunity for Growth

We are seeking a talented and creative Designer to join our team at our Hamilton site. Finsbury Food Group is a leading speciality bakery manufacturer that raises quality and efficiency standards, and builds long-term relationships with major retailers and the foodservice channel. The bread for your morning toast, the candle-filled centrepiece for a memorable celebration, and the buns, muffins and other treats that turn teatime into quality time are all part of what we do. Baking brilliance makes every day special.

The successful candidate will join our Design Studio and, working as part of the current design team, will be responsible for producing visually compelling designs that support our brand, marketing, and communications efforts across various platforms. You will work with internal teams across our sites to develop product concepts, visuals, packaging, photography and social media communications, trade advertising and more in conjunction with some of the world’s biggest brand licenses (from Disney and Warner Bros. to Mars and Thorntons). A strong portfolio, a keen eye for aesthetics, and a passion for turning ideas into effective visual content are required.

What you’ll do

As the Designer, you will create designs for digital and print media including social media graphics, website assets, email campaigns, brochures, posters, presentations, advertisements, signage, packaging and product components using style guides to create product and packaging concepts for licensor approvals. You will manage artwork for licensors’ online approval systems and collaborate with marketing, product, and category/sales teams to understand project goals and translate these into visual concepts and designs for internal and own-label brands. You will be taught the basics of product photography and photographic/media editing, and you will work with the senior media designer and communications manager to maintain and evolve the company brand identity across all materials.

Required qualifications
  • Degree level qualification in Graphic Design for Print/Visual Communication
  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer
  • High degree of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills across various media types
  • Excellent visual, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and iterate quickly
  • Confident personality, capable of collaborating with large multi-department/site teams
  • Optional: Basic knowledge of photography, photo and video editing
What’s in it for you?
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave to allow quality time with your new arrival
  • Enhanced Pension Scheme for our employees
  • Death in Service Benefit
  • Free Employee Assistance Programme (open to colleagues and their families)
  • Retail discounts accessible via our Benefits Hub platform
  • Company shop available at sites (heavily discounted, yummy products)
  • Refer a Friend Scheme (up to £300 per referral – terms and conditions dependent)
  • Employee Recognition Awards; extensive Learning & Development opportunities (including opportunities for sponsored professional memberships and our in-house development course)
  • An opportunity to be part of a fantastic, growing organisation. Head over to our LinkedIn page to find out more
