About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to take a leading role in the promotion of a safe and supportive environment for all pupils and staff. This is a crucial position at the heart of our school s safeguarding culture and pastoral provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on all aspects of safeguarding and child protection across the school, in accordance with statutory guidance.

  • Manage and oversee all safeguarding referrals and concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.

  • Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding issues, liaising with external agencies such as social care, the police, and health services.

  • Deliver safeguarding training and updates to staff, ensuring the school s compliance with current legislation.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure policies and procedures are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed.

  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to embed safeguarding into the wider school culture.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a relevant safeguarding qualification and have significant experience in a child protection or pastoral role, ideally within a school setting.

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and related safeguarding legislation.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.

  • Have experience working with vulnerable children and multi-agency partners.

  • Be approachable, trustworthy, and able to manage sensitive information with discretion.
