Salary: 14 - 16 an hour (dependent on experience)
Are you a creative and practical individual with a passion for design and the arts? We are seeking a proactive and skilled Design Technology/Art Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Uxbridge (Hillingdon) as soon as possible.
As a DT/Art Technician, you will provide vital technical support to the Design & Technology and Art departments, ensuring that students and teachers have the resources, materials, and safe working environment needed to deliver engaging and hands-on lessons.
Prepare, maintain and organise tools, materials and equipment for practical lessons in DT and Art.
Support students and teachers during practical sessions, offering technical assistance when required.
Ensure all machinery, tools and resources are safe, clean and well-maintained.
Order and manage stock, including art supplies, timber, adhesives, and other materials.
Assist in the display of students' artwork and DT projects around the school.
Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Relevant qualifications or experience in Art, Design Technology, or a related field.
Practical knowledge of tools, machinery, and workshop safety (experience with laser cutters, 3D printers, or kiln use is a plus).
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
A flexible, can-do attitude and enthusiasm for supporting student creativity and learning.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
