Salary: £25,584 - £27,711 per annum

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you a practical and proactive individual with a passion for supporting creative learning? We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Design Technology Technician to join our dynamic team at a well-established secondary school in Sheffield.

About the Role:

As a Design Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the DT department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for someone with a strong background in workshop tools, machinery, and health & safety standards in a school or educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to teachers during practical DT lessons.
  • Maintain, service, and safely store equipment and materials.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials for student projects.
  • Ensure all machinery and tools are compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Support with stock control and ordering of supplies.
About You:
  • Previous experience as a Design Technology Technician or similar role is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, tools, and workshop equipment.
  • Health & Safety awareness is essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant qualification or training in Design Technology or Engineering would be advantageous.
