Position: Design Technology Technician

Are you skilled in practical design and technology? Do you enjoy supporting young people as they develop hands-on creative and technical skills? A well-regarded secondary school in Willerby, Hull, is seeking a dedicated Design Technology Technician to join their team this September. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in preparing, maintaining, and supporting engaging lessons in the Design Technology department.

Your Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for lessons in areas such as resistant materials, product design, engineering, or graphics

* Ensure all equipment and machinery is safe, clean, and ready for use

* Support teachers during practical lessons, providing technical assistance where required

* Help students use tools and equipment safely and confidently

* Monitor and maintain stock levels, ordering materials when necessary

* Uphold health and safety standards within the workshop and classroom environment

* Assist with displays of student work and contribute to creating an inspiring learning space

What We're Looking For:

* Practical experience or qualifications in Design Technology, engineering, or a related technical field

* Good knowledge of workshop tools, machinery, and safety procedures

* A proactive, organised, and flexible approach to supporting lessons

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students

* Previous experience in a school or educational environment as a Design Technology Technician (desirable but not essential)
