TERM TIME ONLY WITH NO TERM TIME LEAVE / PLUS 5 TRAINING DAYS

Ysgol Rhosnesni High School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced Technician to support our large and busy Design & Technology Department.

Under the guidance of senior staff, the successful candidate will provide extensive workshop support, including the preparation and maintenance of resources and support to staff and pupils.

This vacancy is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team, within a growing and popular secondary school and is ideal for someone with practical experience/skills in a school setting or similar workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for D.T lessons
  • Support teachers in delivering lessons across all D.T specialisms including Resistant Materials, Electronics, Textiles and Product Design
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and used safely ensuring all health & safety protocols are followed
  • Assist with demonstrations and provide technical guidance to students
  • Operate and maintain CAD/CAM equipment, including a laser cutter and 3D printer (training will be provided on specialist equipment)
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a D.T technician or in a similar practical role
  • Confident handling D.T workshop equipment and materials
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures in an educational setting or similar
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • An Enhanced DBS & EWC registration is required for this position.
