Design Technology Technician

A school in Abingdon is looking for a skilled and organised Design Technology Technician to support the teaching of Design and Technology. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and creative environment, helping to inspire the next generation of designers and engineers. This role begins ASAP.

Duties as a Design Technology Technician:

• Prepare and maintain equipment, tools, and materials for practical lessons
• Support teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring health and safety standards are met
• Assist in setting up and dismantling projects and demonstrations
• Carry out routine maintenance of workshop tools and machinery
• Ensure a safe and organised working environment in the Design Technology department
• Manage stock levels and order materials when necessary
• Provide technical support for a range of design and technology subjects, including woodwork, metalwork, electronics, and graphics

Ideal Design Technology Technician:

• Experience working in a workshop, school, or technical environment (desirable but not essential)
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting
• Practical skills in handling tools and machinery
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills as a Design Technology Technician
• A willingness to support students and teachers in a hands-on learning environment
