Job Description:

An established Independent School in Islington is seeking a creative and skilled Design & Technology Teacher specialising in Textiles for a permanent, full-time position starting in September. The successful Design & Technology Teacher (Textiles) will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to develop their understanding of textile materials, design, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Design & Technology with a focus on Textiles.
  • Develop students' understanding of textile properties, construction techniques, and design principles.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Design & Technology curriculum, specifically within Textiles.
  • Maintain a safe and effective textiles workshop environment.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Design & Technology, ideally with a focus on Textiles.
