About the Design Technology Teacher Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design Technology Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful Design Technology Teacher will have the opportunity to teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students with engaging lessons and hands-on projects.

Responsibilities of the Design Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students can explore their creativity and develop their practical skills in Design Technology.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in Design Technology, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Design Technology curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Design Technology and incorporate new technologies into the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Design Technology teaching.
  • Actively close gaps in attainment and achievement between pupils and all groups of pupils.
  • Monitor and promote the involvement of all groups of pupils in the extra-curricular life of the school.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Design & Technology or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Design & Technology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for Design & Technology and a commitment to inspiring students.
