Job Title: Design & Technology Teacher (KS3 & KS4)

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire (rich access via London and local transport)
Key Stages: KS3 & KS4 (with potential KS5 involvement)
Start Date: September 2025 (full-time, permanent)
Ofsted Rating: Predominantly Good with aspects of Outstanding in local schools

Role Overview

We are recruiting a creative and skilled DT Teacher to deliver high-quality Design & Technology education across KS3 and GCSE. Positions are available in Watford-area secondary schools with modern workshops, CAD/CAM tools, and strong technician support. You ll be joining a motivated team committed to developing practical skills and design thinking. Both experienced teachers and ECTs with ambition to grow are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging DT lessons in Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphics, or Engineering.

  • Track student progress, offering targeted feedback and support.

  • Collaborate in lesson planning and resource development with DT colleagues.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring workshop environment.

  • Supervise enrichment or extracurricular design-based clubs or events.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent; ECTs encouraged to apply.

  • A related degree and strong subject knowledge in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics or Engineering.

  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4; KS5 teaching is a plus.

  • Confidence in workshop-based practical teaching and behavior management.

  • Collaborative and flexible approach, keen to develop schemes of learning.
