Design & Technology Teacher Resistant Materials/Graphics

Location: Halstead
Salary: £130 - £250 per day
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025

Are you a passionate and creative DT teacher with expertise in Resistant Materials and/or Graphics? A Secondary school in the Halstead area is looking for a DT Teacher to join their successful Design & Technology department and inspire the next generation of designers and makers.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated DT teacher to deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Resistant Materials and Graphics across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a key role in delivering a practical, skills-based curriculum that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and technical competence. Please note: This role does not include Food or Textiles specialisms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality DT lessons focused on Resistant Materials and Graphics
  • Plan and prepare lessons that foster curiosity, technical skills, and independent thinking
  • Manage a well-equipped workshop and ensure a safe learning environment
  • Support and challenge students of all abilities to reach their full potential
  • Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular DT activities

What We re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a DT specialism
  • Strong subject knowledge in Resistant Materials and/or Graphics
  • Experience teaching at KS3 and KS4 (experience with GCSE DT desirable)
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and health & safety
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
