Design Technology Teacher

A school in Stevenage is seeking a dedicated and passionate Design Technology Teacher to join a vibrant and dynamic Design Technology department for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a subject that combines creativity with practical skills, preparing students for future industries.

Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:

1. Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available for the right candidate).
2. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum.
3. Mark and assess student work, providing timely, constructive feedback to support their development.
4. Monitor student progress, implement intervention strategies, and differentiate lessons to meet all learners' needs.
5. Maintain a safe, engaging, and positive classroom environment.
6. Contribute to the development of the department’s resources, curriculum, and enrichment activities.

Ideal Design Technology Teacher:

1. A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with a strong background in Design Technology.
2. Experience teaching a range of DT specialisms, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering.
3. A passionate, creative educator who can inspire and engage students in practical learning.
4. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to challenge students to achieve their best.
5. A proactive team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and contributing to department success.
