Job summary

An educational institution is seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Teacher in Liverpool to join a specialist SEMH provision. You will inspire students aged 11-16 through hands-on learning in a supportive environment. Responsibilities include delivering differentiated lessons and creating stimulating classroom activities. The ideal candidate should be creative and committed to inclusive education. This is a temp to perm position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 3:30pm.

Qualifications

  • Experience in delivering Design and Technology lessons, particularly in Resistant Materials or Product Design.
  • Ability to create a stimulating workshop/classroom environment.
  • Patience and adaptability in teaching methods.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision supporting pupils aged 11-16 who all have an Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP) reflecting their individual needs including Social, Emotional, and Mental health needs.

This is an amazing opportunity where you will be joining an incredible team, to inspire and engage students through hands-on learning, fostering their creativity, confidence, and practical skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.

As a Design and Technology Teacher you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated D&T lessons (Resistant Materials, Product Design, or similar) tailored to individual learners, and to create a safe and stimulating workshop/classroom environment using practical tasks to build resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

We are looking for a subject specialist ideally, you will be supported in the classroom by a strong team of experienced Teaching Assistants. We are looking for someone who is creative, hands-on, and enthusiastic about practical learning, someone who shows patience, adaptability, and a strong commitment to inclusive education, and who is confident in managing behaviour positively and empathetically

This is a temp to perm position.

The hours are Monday to Friday 8am-3:30pm.
