Job description

This school is seeking a passionate and creative Design and Technology Teacher to join their dedicated and innovative team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across a range of DT disciplines to students at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Duties as Design Technology Teacher:

  1. Plan and deliver exciting, practical lessons across areas such as Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, or Resistant Materials (depending on specialism).
  2. Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and achievement.
  3. Foster curiosity, resilience, and a love of designing and making.
  4. Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and departmental initiatives.
  5. Uphold health and safety standards in workshop settings.
  6. Participate in wider school life, including enrichment activities and school events.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. A degree or specialism in Design and Technology or a related subject.
  3. Strong subject knowledge and practical skills across one or more DT areas.
  4. Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills as a Design Technology Teacher.
  5. A commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all learners.
