Job description

This school in Hatfield is seeking a dedicated and passionate Design Technology Teacher to join their vibrant and dynamic Design Technology department for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a subject that allows students to combine creativity with practical skills, while preparing them for the demands of future industries.

Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
  1. Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available for the right candidate).
  2. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the curriculum.
  3. Mark and assess student work, providing timely, constructive feedback to support their development.
  4. Monitor student progress, implement intervention strategies, and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  5. Maintain a safe, engaging, and positive classroom environment.
  6. Contribute to the development of the department’s resources, curriculum, and enrichment activities.

A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with a strong background in Design Technology.

Experience in teaching a range of DT specialisms, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering.

A passionate, creative educator who can inspire and engage students in practical learning.

Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to challenge students to achieve their best as a Design Technology Teacher.

A proactive team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and contributing to department success.
