With a recent refurbishment of the technology wing, including CAD suites, laser cutters, and food technology kitchens, the school is committed to delivering a cutting-edge and practical education.
About the Role:
The position involves teaching KS3 and KS4 DT, with the possibility of leading KS5 Product Design or Engineering. The department fosters innovation, creativity, and ethical design. Pupils explore real-world briefs, develop digital fluency, and prototype sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that reflect industry and sustainability practices
Foster design thinking, user research, iteration, and innovation
Coordinate enrichment (e.g. STEM days, maker fairs, DT exhibitions)
Support pupil progression into apprenticeships, university, and design careers
Candidate Requirements:
Degree in DT, Engineering, or similar, plus QTS
Strong command of workshop tools and modern technologies (e.g. CNC, laser cutting, Fusion 360)
Passionate about making, problem-solving, and design-led learning
Able to engage students from all backgrounds in purposeful, future-facing work
