Job description

This school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students and develop their creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:

1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons across key areas of design technology, such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, and engineering.
2. Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and innovation in design projects.
3. Teach students how to use tools, machinery, and digital design software safely and effectively.
4. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to aid development.
5. Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment.
6. Contribute to the development of the Design Technology curriculum and extracurricular activities.

Minimum Requirements:

1. A degree in Design Technology, Engineering, or a related subject.
2. Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) preferred.
3. Experience teaching Design Technology at a secondary level.
4. Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
5. Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
6. Passionate about design, innovation, and hands-on learning.
