Job description

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join an innovative and well-resourced DT department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about design, engineering, and practical learning to inspire the next generation of creators and problem-solvers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teach Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to deliver Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interests.
2. Deliver engaging lessons that promote creativity and technical skills.
3. Plan and assess learning in line with national curriculum and exam board requirements.
4. Prepare students for GCSE (and A-Level if applicable) success in DT subjects.
5. Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment.
6. Contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular activities.
7. Foster innovation, teamwork, and resilience among students.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
2. A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject.
3. Strong practical skills, knowledge of tools, materials, and safety practices.
4. Experience teaching DT at secondary level (NQTs/ECTs are encouraged to apply).
5. Excellent organisational, communication, and classroom management skills.
6. A passion for design, problem-solving, and technical learning.
