Job description

A school in Broxbourne is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher for a long-term supply role starting in September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to teach a dynamic subject that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills.

Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:

1. Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities available if appropriate).
2. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the curriculum.
3. Mark and assess student work regularly, providing constructive feedback.
4. Track and monitor student progress, implementing intervention strategies where needed.
5. Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
6. Contribute to departmental planning and resource development.

Candidate Requirements:

• A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with a strong background in Design Technology.
• Experience teaching a range of DT specialisms, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering.
• A passionate, creative, and adaptable educator with excellent communication skills.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and challenge students.
• Ability to quickly integrate into a new team and maintain continuity of learning.
