Design Technology Teacher – Secondary School in Watford
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP

We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Watford known for its inclusive ethos and commitment to supporting both students and staff. The school values creativity, practical learning, and innovation, and is seeking a passionate Design Technology Teacher to join the team from September 2025.

This is a great opportunity for someone enthusiastic about design and technology to inspire students and contribute to a thriving department. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and those new to the profession.

The Role

You will teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with KS5 experience considered a bonus. Subject areas may include product design, resistant materials, graphics, and CAD/CAM. The role involves planning engaging lessons, supporting students in developing practical skills, and ensuring a safe and well-organised workshop environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver creative and engaging DT lessons
  • Encourage hands-on learning through diverse design and manufacturing projects

Candidate Profile

  • Creative and practical teaching style
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
