Job summary

The Trade Desk is seeking a Director of Design Technology to lead the technical design practice within our global UX Design organization. This senior role shapes tools, systems, AI capabilities, and engineering workflows that empower scalable, world-class product experiences.

You will bridge design and engineering with a rare mix of craft, engineering rigor, and AI expertise, reporting to the VP of UX Design and partnering with Product, Engineering, and UX leadership to drive excellence at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a design/CS-related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in design technology, design engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven leadership experience overseeing design technology or design systems teams.
• Deep expertise in Figma including advanced components and AI features.

Responsibilities

• Shape and advance the design system, with emphasis on scalability and adoption.
• Lead AI tooling strategy, prototyping infrastructure, and AI-assisted design workflows.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and UX Leadership to align on APIs, standards, and documentation.
• Mentor a team of design technologists, prototypers, and front-end designers.
• Represent the UX Design team’s technology perspective in planning cycles and roadmaps.
