Design Technician (AutoCAD 2D)

£42,000 - £47,000 + Training + Technical Support + Long-Term Stability + Varied Projects + Long Term Progression

Remote (Occasional travel to London)

Are you a Design Technician with AutoCAD 2D experience looking for a varied, technically interesting long-term role where you'll be properly supported and developed both technically and professionally within the façade industry?

This is a long-term position with a well-established but growing building envelope specialist where you'll receive in-depth training on new compliance requirements, plus ongoing support on bespoke systems and in-house products as you settle into the role.

The company design, manufacture and install building envelopes across mixed-use residential and commercial projects, including rainscreen/cladding, glazing/window design and architectural metalwork. They're continuing to grow, and as a result are now looking to add to their design team.

In this role you will run projects from day one, taking an estimating handover and producing technical/architectural details for approval before completing fabrication detailing. The position is remote, with occasional travel to their factory and London office on an as-needed basis.

This role would suit someone with AutoCAD 2D technical detailing experience in façades/building envelope (or a related construction/metalwork drafting background) looking for a secure role with training, support and long-term progression opportunities.

The Role

• Producing 2D AutoCAD technical and architectural details for façade/building envelope projects
• Running projects from design stage through to fabrication detailing
• Working from estimating handover and scope of works to develop designs for approval

The Person

• AutoCAD 2D experience with technical detailing / drafting
• Background in façades / building envelope / rainscreen / cladding / glazing, or related construction/metalwork detailing
• Comfortable taking ownership of designs and communicating with stakeholders through approvals
