Job summary

Horizon Community College in Barnsley is seeking a Workshop Technician to support Design Technology lessons, ensuring a safe, well-resourced workshop and efficient operations. You will work closely with subject teachers and help students prepare materials while using band saws, circular saws and other workshop equipment.

Responsibilities include cutting and sizing materials, distributing and repairing equipment, advising students on safe tool use, and safe disposal of hazardous waste.

Qualifications

• 4 GCSEs (A*–C) including English and Maths or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar environment must be demonstrated if qualifications are not possessed.
