Job summary

Coast and Vale Learning Trust is seeking a Workshop Technician to support Design Technology teachers and ensure a safe, well-resourced workshop environment. You will assist with cutting materials, organise equipment, and guide students in safe tool use.

Experience with band saws and circular saws is desirable. 4 GCSEs including English and Maths or equivalent are required, with safeguarding training as part of the role.

Qualifications

• 4 GCSEs (Grades 9–4/A*–C) including English and Maths or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar environment may be demonstrated if these qualifications are not held.

Responsibilities

• Cutting and sizing materials
• Organising the distribution and repair of equipment
• Advising students on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment
• Supporting students in material preparation
• Safe disposal of hazardous waste
