Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is helping a Good-rated secondary school in Birmingham to recruit a full-time Food Technology/Design & Technology teacher for maternity cover.

You will deliver engaging lessons, plan and assess, and support students to develop practical skills and confidence. The role requires QTS or equivalent, secondary experience in Food Tech/DT, strong classroom management, and the ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Food Technology and/or Design & Technology at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Passionate about engaging students and supporting development.
• Team player with commitment to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Food Technology and/or Design & Technology lessons across the secondary age range.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Support students in developing practical skills, creativity and subject knowledge.
• Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and classroom behaviour.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
