Design Technology Teacher

Start Date: April 2025
End Date: May 2025 (with potential to extend)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:15pm

We’re currently looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Pickering for a short-term assignment, with potential for extension.

This role involves full teaching responsibilities, including planning and marking. You’ll be teaching KS3 and KS4 students in a well-resourced department with supportive staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging Design Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
• Plan and prepare lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with the DT department and wider school team
• Support pupils of varying abilities, ensuring all students are included and challenged

Planning & Marking Required
The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Design Technology in a secondary setting
• Strong classroom management skills
• A commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
