Design Team Manager | 12 Month Contract | Outside IR35

I am seeking a Design Team Manager for a construction firm in London on a 12-month contract. The role offers a hybrid work setup, with 3 days per week in their London office.

Key Experience/Responsibilities:

• Co-managing a team of 12 Electrical Engineers and 3 CAD Technicians.
• Managing the delivery of electrical designs for 4G & 5G infrastructure installed on the London Underground.
• Experience with LU / TfL projects is preferable but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design processes, deliverables, and relevant software packages.
• This role may suit a Senior / Principal / Associate Electrical Engineer with team and project management experience, or a Design Manager with a strong technical background.
• Ideal candidates will have experience working on the contractor side, not exclusively in consultancy.
• Additional responsibilities include:
• Managing the design programme.
• Liaising with clients and third parties.
• Addressing design issues and supporting team members with their work.
• Conducting technical reviews of electrical design packages.
• Providing management support to the CAD team.
• Organising surveys, carried out by the installation team.
• Managing resources and assisting with recruitment if needed.
• Raising queries to clients and TfL, and resolving design blockers.
• Holding third parties and clients accountable for information and responses needed for designs.
