Job summary

Haven is seeking a Template & Brand Systems Designer in Hemel Hempstead. You will build a scalable, self-serve template system using Canva Enterprise, Brand Kit and related tools, embedding brand rules to empower non-designers while keeping assets on-brand.

You'll implement guardrails, automate workflows, and document how to use and maintain the system. The role blends design with systems thinking in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Strong design background with template systems experience.
• Experience building reusable template systems in Canva Enterprise, Brand Kit or comparable tools.
• Understanding of brand governance and locked vs editable elements.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Haven's template ecosystem across Canva Enterprise, Smartly, and beyond.
• Architect smart guardrails to keep templates on-brand and manage permissions.
• Enable self-service for non-designers with clear guidance and documentation.
• Connect Canva Enterprise with Bynder DAM and Smartly to enable data-fed templates and automated workflows.
• Establish QA standards and monitor usage, refreshing templates as needed.

Design Systems & Template DesignerHemel Hempstead (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)Annual salary + bonus and benefitsWe're looking for a Template & Brand Systems Designer to build something we've never had before: a scalable, self-serve system that empowers the whole Haven team - whether you've got design training or not - to create on-brand assets independently. You'll design and build beautiful, brand-locked templates in Canva Enterprise, Smartly, and similar tools, embedding the rules and automation that keep everything on-brand whilst letting non-designers work their magic.This isn't about churning out one-off artwork to briefs; it's about architecting an entire infrastructure that grows smarter with every person who uses it. If you're energised by the idea of democratising creativity and building systems that scale, we want to hear from you.What you will be doing:- Designing and building Haven's template ecosystem - creating reusable, brand-locked templates across Canva Enterprise, Smartly and beyond for menus, POS, signage, email, social and self-serve formats that let the whole team create on-brand assets independently.- Architecting smart guardrails, not gatekeepers - defining what's locked versus editable (colours, CTAs, pricing, imagery) so the system keeps things on-brand by design, set permissions, versioning and user roles that separate creators from users.- Enabling self-service for non-designers - building the logic, automation and training that empowers category managers and park teams to create their own assets within brand boundaries; produce clear guidance and documentation so people feel confident doing it themselves.- Connecting the dots between tools - managing the integration between Canva Enterprise, Bynder DAM and Smartly, working with the Production Automation Manager to build data-fed templates and automated workflows that scale without manual effort.- Keeping the system healthy and evolving - establishing QA standards, track what's being used (and what isn't), refresh or retire templates based on real usage, and partner with the Brand team to translate guidelines into machine-enforceable rules that grow with Haven.What we’d like you to bring:- Strong design background with template systems expertise - you've built reusable template systems (not just finished assets) ideally in Canva Enterprise, Brand Kit or comparable tools like Adobe Express, Figma design systems, or Bynder Studio.- Brand systems and component thinking - you understand locked versus editable elements, reusable components, and how to build templates that stay on-brand by design.- Experience democratising design - you've enabled non-designers to self-serve while maintaining brand governance; you know how to make creativity accessible without compromising quality.- Comfort with automation and data - you understand data-fed templates, dynamic fields, and automation concepts; you can think in systems and workflows, not one-off outputs.- Patient, clear communication - you can train, document for and support non-technical users with genuine warmth; you make complex systems feel straightforward.What’s In It For You?- ‘Holiday Buy Scheme’- Annual bonus- Generous discounts on both Haven and Warner Hotels holiday for you, family and friends- Comprehensive wellbeing support- Exclusive discounts with corporate partners- Exciting career pathways, including Learning and Development opportunities such as Apprenticeships and Degrees- Enhanced family friendly policies and pay (eligibility criteria applied)Who are we?We're part of the award-winning Bourne Leisure family - Haven & Warner Hotels - with 9,000 team members across 39 seaside locations and our HQ in Hemel Hempstead.What's it like to work with us?We're defined by our people and our Breath of Fresh Air culture, which values authenticity and supports every team member.
