Job Description

JOB TITLE: Design System Content Designer

LOCATION: London
SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in our London office.

About the opportunity

We’re looking for a content designer to help shape the language and documentation that underpin our design system. You’ll be responsible for crafting clear, consistent, and accessible guidance that supports teams building digital experiences across Web, iOS and Android platforms.

In this role, you’ll work closely with designers, engineers and accessibility specialists to document components, patterns and principles that ensure a cohesive experience across platforms. You’ll translate complex design and technical concepts into plain English, helping teams understand not just how to use the system, but why it works the way it does.

You’ll play a key role in making our design system easy to adopt and scale—ensuring that every piece of guidance reflects our voice, values and commitment to inclusive design.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Writing and maintaining high-quality documentation for design system components, patterns and usage guidelines across Web, iOS and Android.

  • Ensuring platform-specific nuances are clearly explained while maintaining consistency in tone and structure.

  • Collaborating in an agile environment with designers, engineers and product teams.

  • Championing accessibility and inclusive content practices throughout the system.

  • Helping teams understand how to apply the system effectively through clear, purposeful content.

  • Contributing to the evolution of the system by identifying gaps, improving clarity and shaping governance.

  • Advocating for the value of content design in system adoption and user experience.

What you'll need

  • Experience as a content designer, UX writer or technical writer—ideally with a focus on design systems or product documentation.

  • A strong understanding of platform-specific design considerations across Web, iOS and Android.

  • Ability to write clear, concise and accessible content for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Familiarity with design tools like Figma and documentation platforms such as Storybook, Confluence, Zeroheight or similar.

  • A collaborative mindset and confidence working with cross-functional teams.

  • Flexibility in adapting tone and style to suit different audiences and contexts.

  • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments, including product, engineering, legal and brand teams.

  • A passion for creating content that empowers teams and improves consistency across digital experiences.
