Design Studio Manager – Lymington

Start Date: December 2025

Mark Beryman Design are seeking a highly organised and proactive Design Studio Manager to join our busy Lymington studio. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience, a professional and confident approach, and a genuine interest in design. We’re looking for someone adaptable who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a positive, can-do attitude. This varied role would particularly suit candidates with a background as a PA, or Office Manager, ideally within the creative or design industry.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the reception area, welcome visitors, and act as the first point of contact for the studio.
  • Coordinate and manage studio workflow to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle company correspondence (phone, email, and post).
  • Liaise with suppliers, manage deliveries, and coordinate shipments for projects.
  • Organise meetings, events, and oversee catering requirements.
  • Support the Finance team.
  • Maintain staff records, contracts, and HR compliance (with external HR support).
  • Oversee health & safety compliance, including inductions, PAT testing, and fire equipment servicing.
  • Arrange travel for directors and designers.
  • Manage office supplies, inventory, and studio equipment.
  • Oversee design and visualisation software licences.
  • Coordinate building maintenance and liaise with contractors.
  • Assist with preparing project presentations using InDesign.
  • Schedule and coordinate representative visits.
  • Possible travel to assist designers & FF&E team.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in administration or office management (experience in a creative or design-led business is required).
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage a small team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident in MS Office and quick to learn new software systems.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • InDesign or Photoshop experience desirable (or a willingness to learn).
  • Approachable, confident, and professional character.
  • Experience in the interior design industry needed, yacht design a strong plus.
