Job Description

A highly experienced and qualified ECI Engineer with extensive expertise in designing complex bespoke hardware for heavy machinery control systems and associated field equipment. Responsible for the overall Electrical design scope of projects within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring adherence to procedures and guidelines. Play an integral role in meeting project milestones for control systems design and supply.

As part of the electrical design team, promote continuous improvement, team spirit, and knowledge sharing. Assist in enhancing systems and processes for efficiency and best practices.

Role Responsibilities

1. Produce technical documentation (Cable Calcs, FDS, HDS, SDS) and OM Manuals.
2. Design electrical control systems using AutoCAD Electrical to meet customer specifications.
3. Complete Designer Risk Assessments to BS EN 12100.
4. Create BOMs for procurement.
5. Select components for control systems.
6. Check electrical schematics, GA’s, BOMs, and calculations independently.
7. Lead ECI engineering output, delivering solutions that satisfy client requirements.
8. Develop customer solutions using comprehensive technical knowledge.
9. Understand IEE Wiring Regulations and relevant standards (EN60204, EN13849).
10. Work autonomously on defined engineering subjects, seeking guidance in specialist areas when needed.
11. Be aware of Health and Safety requirements and environmental impacts.
12. Support design reviews with technical solutions.
13. Deliver engineering activities independently and effectively.
14. Supervise engineers, graduates, and draughtsmen in work package execution.
15. Recognize limits of technical understanding and seek direction accordingly.
16. Plan and deliver work packages within scope.
17. Support technical proposals during tendering.
18. Maintain project awareness and estimate task durations accurately.
19. Manage scope changes and implement change control.
20. Implement Quality Management Systems and understand quality control procedures.
21. Identify, assess, and mitigate design risks throughout the product lifecycle.
