Job summary

MTR Partnership in Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Design Manager to oversee the design process across new build and refurbishment projects. You will coordinate with architects, consultants and subcontractors from pre-construction through to delivery.

The role requires strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep design information aligned with programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator with a main contractor.
• Experience on new build and refurbishment projects.
• Understanding of construction methods and buildability.
• Ability to coordinate consultants and manage design information.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery
• Liaise with architects, consultants, subcontractors and project teams
• Review design information, drawings and specifications
• Ensure design information is issued in line with construction programmes
• Identify and resolve design issues to minimise delays on site
• Attend design meetings and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders
