Design Manager (Steel Fabrication)

£60,000 - £65,000 DOE + Bonus + Private Healthcare + Progression + Company Benefits

Location: Bedford

Are you a Tekla designer with experience in steel fabrication and leading a team?

This company is a specialist steel fabricator that works with a broad range of clients nationwide, ranging from major contractors to bespoke consultancies. Due to an ever-increasing workload and taking on exciting new projects, they are looking to grow their design team.

In this varied role, you will:

1. Take on project management responsibilities, working closely with the design and production team and overseeing the design process.
2. Produce technical drawings on a variety of projects such as structural steelwork, glazed balustrades, and architectural metalwork.
3. Oversee the design work of the rest of the team, offering guidance and mentoring where necessary.
4. Coordinate with project managers and clients to meet project deadlines.
5. Prioritize work and meet tight deadlines.

While the position is mainly office-based, some travel will be required. You'll have the chance to interact with clients, collaborate with other departments, and engage with senior leadership, all while enjoying numerous opportunities for career progression.

This role would suit a CAD Draughtsperson with Tekla experience looking for a diverse role, which provides overtime to increase your earnings and the opportunity to progress within the company.

The Person:

1. Draughtsperson or similar.
2. AutoCAD / Tekla background.
3. Experience in the design of architectural metalwork.
