What You’ll Do

We are looking for a Design Manager to lead our UK NPD team in building innovative personal care products. We focus on designing products that delight our customers. Working as part of our London Design Office, you will bring technical expertise and inspiration to our creative efforts to deliver credible market solutions, specifically by:

  • Leading the team to conduct design studies (independently and collaboratively) to solve technical issues during product development.
  • Gathering insights from professional and consumer feedback to guide the team in implementing streamlined design solutions.
  • Developing a team of high performers, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Managing hiring and team expansion aligned with business growth in the category.
  • Owning the entire design process from conception, CAD execution, prototyping, to verification, while working efficiently and developing the team to do the same.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving designs for cost efficiency, manufacturing, quality, and consumer value.
  • Applying sound engineering and product design standards to deliver practical solutions.
  • Leveraging understanding and experience of high-volume manufacturing processes and materials to optimize designs.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with colleagues.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with our Product Development teams in the U.S. and China, as well as with multifunctional and executive teams, to ensure successful transition from ideas to production.

What You’ll Bring

  • Typically 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Typically 7-10 years of proven experience in Mechanical, Product, or Industrial Design environments.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Experience in the consumer goods household appliance sector is desirable.
  • Experience with plastic manufacturing processes.
  • Experience delivering real-world products to market.
  • Hands-on experience in building prototypes and product testing, with a technical qualification at Degree level, ideally in Product Design Engineering, Mechanical, or Industrial Design Engineering.
  • High proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo, with demonstrable experience leading CAD reviews.
  • Ability to motivate the team to identify, solve, implement, and verify technical solutions independently.
  • Flexible and collaborative mindset, key to success at SharkNinja.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with an inquisitive nature.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering, software, and UX design is helpful but not essential.

Please note this role requires you to be in our London office 3 days a week.
