Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

A well-established construction company based in Welwyn Garden City is seeking a skilled Design Manager to oversee and coordinate all design activities across a range of industrial developments, including both new build and refurbishment schemes. This office-based role offers long-term growth within a dynamic and quality-driven business.

Responsibilities
  • Appoint, brief, and manage external design consultants, ensuring cost and programme control.
  • Develop and monitor design programmes to align with overall project timelines.
  • Manage the drawing portal to ensure accurate, current information is distributed to site teams.
  • Coordinate subcontractor design packages and liaise with consultants for integration and compliance.
  • Oversee statutory authority approvals and ensure works are delivered to programme.
  • Lead the BREEAM process from pre-construction to completion, maximising achievable credits.
  • Manage Building Control Inspectors, Warranty Providers, and post-construction testing to secure all required certifications.
  • Provide clear weekly updates on design progress and statutory authority matters.
  • Review completed projects to improve future design processes.
