Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking a Design Manager in St Asaph with hybrid working to lead and coordinate design activities across water frameworks. You will manage regional design engineers, allocate resources, and ensure designs meet regulatory, safety and client requirements.

The role involves collaboration with internal and external teams, tender input, and driving standardisation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary design teams, ideally within water infrastructure or a related sector.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Design Engineering.
• Experience working across multiple projects and managing competing priorities.
• Good knowledge of clean and wastewater systems and processes.
• Experience working with NEC contracts and framework agreements.
• Strong understanding of the design lifecycle, including optioneering, outline design, detailed design and design reviews.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015, safe-by-design principles and relevant health and safety requirements.
• Awareness of WIMES, DWI requirements, design codes and relevant legislation.
• Strong organisational, planning and resource management skills.
• The ability to make sound technical decisions and provide effective design governance.
• Experience of using design management software and systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative approach to leadership, team development and problem-solving.
