Design Manager - Menswear & Womenswear

Contemporary Fashion Brand

A contemporary fashion brand renowned for its iconic collections has a rare and exciting opportunity for a Design Manager with strong multi-product menswear and womenswear experience to head up their design team located in its London Head Office.

As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for creating and delivering the design strategy for both their menswear and womenswear collections, driving the brand strategy alongside the Buying Director, and overseeing the development process of all collections.

Working in collaboration with internal teams such as the Buying, Merchandising, Production, Marketing and Sales teams, you will be an important part of the leadership team, reporting directly to the Creative Director whilst overseeing the design team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create and deliver the design strategy for menswear and womenswear collections.
  2. Drive brand strategy alongside the Buying Director.
  3. Oversee the development process of all collections.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams including Buying, Merchandising, Production, Marketing, and Sales.
  5. Report directly to the Creative Director.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Previous apparel design experience at Senior Design, Design Lead, or Design Management level.
  2. Experience with leading premium, lifestyle, or contemporary fashion brands.
  3. Strong design strategy management and range development skills.
  4. Exceptional team and people management skills.
  5. Excellent communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills.
  6. Proficient in CAD and Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.
  7. Experience working with UK and international suppliers and factories.
  8. Exceptional fabric and garment construction knowledge.
