Overview

Our client is a leading Engineering and Construction main contracting company, who deliver design-and-build projects throughout the UK in various industry sectors. Due to growth within their Energy business, they are seeking a Design Manager to work on Battery Energy Storage schemes throughout the UK. This is a developing business unit where you can be part of their growth strategy for many years to come.

Responsibilities

• Be part of the Engineering Senior Management Team.
• Be accountable for the success of the Engineering service delivery.
• Develop strong and productive relationships with clients to ensure work exceeds their expectations and delivers for customers and the environment.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and control engineering output for projects in terms of scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, and stakeholder management.
• Lead the delivery and assurance ensuring the client is meeting its obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (2015) for its roles as Principal Designer and Designer.
• Typically oversee performance management, mentoring, recognition, learning and development, and any corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to the wider teams.

Experience required

• Previous experience within the Battery Energy Storage industry.
• Degree qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering or science subject.
• Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent).
• Experience of managing and developing a diverse, multidisciplined team.
• Experience of design at all voltage levels from LV to 400kV systems.

Package on offer

• Salary range £90,000 - £100,000.
• Car allowance of circa £9,000 or company car.
