We have a fantastic opportunity for a Design Manager

to join our Wates team within our Planned Maintenance division based in Yorkshire. You will be covering various contracts where the primary focus will be to assist management of the design on specific planned projects (high rise buildings), typically from winning the tender through to completion.

Key Accountabilities will include:

1. Produce, agree, and manage a realistic design programme and information required schedule with all relevant parties to satisfy design, procurement, and construction requirements.
2. Manage the design on site, with appropriate assistance from other site-based resources, implementing design management procedures to ensure the timely production of information.
3. Manage or assist in the production of the Contractors' proposals, ensuring they are complete, unambiguous, reviewed by the bid team, and updated to include all post-tender negotiations.
4. Ensure all design deliverables are within budget, fully coordinated, and buildable.
5. Review the design to mitigate Health and Safety issues prior to construction.
6. Ensure the project team adheres to the agreed Contractors' proposals.
7. Manage nominated control design change processes.
8. Organise and chair regular design team meetings.
9. Provide guidance to the project team on design-related issues.

To succeed in this role, you will be an effective communicator with a positive, passionate, and engaging approach when supporting and educating the business. You will have extensive Senior Design Management experience.
