Our client is looking for a Design Manager to join their busy team based at their head office working on schemes across Wales.
You will manage the design process from inception through preconstruction and construction stages to completion, ensuring that designs are developed to fully meet the employer's criteria as well as the commercial objectives, time constraints and contractual requirements, giving due regard to cost in use, life cycle costing and buildability issues.
Overview
You will have a degree-level qualification in architecture and proven experience in design/architecture with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing design teams and elements of construction projects.
Role Information
In conjunction with the Project team, developing and reaching agreement on the design programme and information deliverables, ensuring this is fully co-ordinated with the project procurement and construction programmes, monitoring performance and resources to achieve milestones.
Co-ordinating the whole design process, managing change, information approvals and working closely with the client, employer's representatives, design team and legislative bodies.
Proactively encouraging design team and construction team co-ordination and collaborative working to deliver project goals.
Managing the design development process and the interface with specialist sub-contract design.
Preparing and reaching agreement to the BIM Execution Plan as a direct response to the client's Exchange Information Requirements document.
Managing the document control process, supported by a document
Experience and skills:
Degree-qualified in Architecture (or similar
5+ years' experience managing design elements of construction projects
Strong knowledge of construction processes, ISO 19650, BIM Level 2, and the Building Safety Act
Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, MS Project, and Office Suite
