White Label Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Design Manager for a leading construction business in the Leeds/Wakefield area. The role covers design management from inception through construction, with hybrid working and a strong emphasis on modular building projects using AutoCAD or Revit.

The candidate will oversee tender processes, ensure regulatory compliance, manage budgets and drive continuous improvement in design processes. A hands-on, proactive PM with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Min HNC in Construction or Architectural or similar.
• Experience as Design Manager, Design Coordinator or Architect in architectural/modular building sectors.
• Hands-on design experience with Modular Buildings using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage design from inception to completion, including proposals, tenders and construction oversight.
• Coordinate design with other teams to integrate project aspects.
• Provide technical guidance to the design team.
• Develop and maintain project documentation such as plans, risk assessments and briefs.
• Manage project budgets and ensure targets are met.
• Ensure high-quality design within timescales and budgets.
• Develop design policies to improve design function.

Job Title: Design Manager - Construction/Architectural/Modular

Location: Leeds/Wakefield

Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 + WFH + Bonus + Private Healthcare

You will work in a fast-paced environment, and you will get to see and experience everything from concept to completion.

The Role:

• Manage the design process from inception to completion, including producing design proposals, managing the tender process, and overseeing the construction phase
• Liaise with other teams within the company to ensure the design process is integrated with other aspects of the project
• Provide technical advice and guidance to the design team
• Develop and maintain effective project documentation, including project plans, risk assessments, and design briefs
• Manage project budgets and ensure financial targets are met
• Ensure all design work is completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales and budgets
• Develop and implement design policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement of the design function

The Person:

• Min HNC in Construction or Architectural or similar
• Experience working as a - Design Manager, Design Coordinator or Architect - in an Architectural Practice or Modular Building business
• Must have current or prior experience in hands on design of Modular Buildings or similar using AutoCAD or Revit
• Good understanding of Building Regulations is a MUST
• Strong Project Management skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skill
• Proven ability to review and improve processes and procedures, looking for innovative and creative solutions

Salary & Benefits:

• £50,000 - £75,000 (Dependent On Experience)
• 37.5 working week:
• Monday - Thursday - 8 am - 5pm
• Friday - 8 am - 2pm
• 1 Day WFH per week/4 days WFH per month
• Bonus (Up-to 30%)
